I am trying to get cuckoo running, latest version 2.0-rc1. I have everything running and starting without errors or complaints. rooter.py, cuckoo.py, manage.py, virtualbox all on one box running ubuntu 14.04.. Guest is windows 7 with the agent.py. python is version 2,7 on unbuntu and on the windows7-guest.
I can submit malware samples for any exe, for testing I just use the setup-executable of filezilla, All seems to be going well, but somehow the sample (.exe, a url anything) is never posted to the guest. The agent on the guest always spawns an error "Error code explanation: 501 = Server does not support this operation".
I tried latest agent.py from git, but no success. When I put in the android-agent.py, which was recently posted on git, a lot more action is seen but, as expected, it does not really do much after initial stage. But it does not spawn an error right away. I can also request the version from the android agent but not from the agent intended for windows, that will give me the same error as when trying to submit a analysis job.
Analysis seems to be fully functional, reports are created after I let cuckoo time-out. For now i can run analysis by submitting a job and starting a malware sample by hand. Which is not really a convenient way to do it. I really would like to have commandline-interface(submit.py) and the webinterface fully functional for submitting jobs/malware samples.
Question: Is there something obvious? Am i using the wrong agent-version? Why is cuckoo not able to put the malware/executables/urls into the guest?
